DECIDING BETWEEN A SWIM SPA OR A HOT TUB

4:21 pm/in News /by Flint Hills Spas

“Should we get a swim spa or a hot tub?”  This is a question we hear from people looking to add some awesome aquatic fun to their backyard.  There are many similarities between the 2 products, but of course important differences.  Which is better for your needs?

THE BENEFITS OF HOT TUBS

Hot tubs are multi-faceted and target health & wellness, relaxation, and family/friends time.   The warm water, contoured seats, and powerful, well-positioned jets all add up to a relaxing and stress relieving experience.  You might enjoy that experience by yourself or with others.

The combination of temperature and massage creates a very comfortable and healing environment.  We call this “hydrotherapy”.  Hydrotherapy using a hot tub can help relieve stress, muscle aches and pains, and even aid in recovery post-workout.  The warm water will also promote a better night’s sleep.

Because hot tubs are smaller than swim spas, they are a great option for people with smaller backyards, or for those who simply do not want to take up too much space.

BENEFITS OF SWIM SPAS

Because of their diversity, Swim Spas are perfect for many different types of people.  You might be someone new to swimming and looking to start up an aquatic exercise program, or an experienced long-distance swimmer who’s tired of going to the gym or the Y, or a family who’d like to be able to enjoy swimming year-round instead of just during the summer months.

Most who purchase swim spas are interested in aquatic exercise.  This can involve swimming against the current created by the adjustable swim jets, walking, jogging, or rowing against the current, or even doing stationary exercises.

Swim spas are considerably less expensive than an in-ground pool, easier to maintain, and have a much smaller footprint in your yard.  And most swim spas come with hydrotherapy seating (i.e. like you find in a hot tub) thus you can get all the benefits of a hot tub noted above, and then some!

WHICH IS BEST FOR YOU?

At Flint Hills Spas & Pools, our job is to ask the right questions and give you a thorough education on these products so that you can make the right decision for your family, whether you choose Swim Spa or a Hot Tub. We are even available to do a site inspection before you purchase to help aid in the decision-making process.  For more information please visit www.FlintHillsSpas.com, or come see us at one of our 2 stores in Wichita, KS. We also have a Facebook if you just want to get to know us.
