“Person In Charge”

Island_Spas_bg3

If you bought your hot tub from us you know that we espouse the importance of having a “person in charge” of the hot tub.  What exactly does this mean?

WHAT DOES “PERSON IN CHARGE” MEAN?

No guys, it doesn’t mean you now rule the household.  You are still second in command!  “Person in charge” means that one person, not multiple people, in the household handles all spa testing and regular care.

BUT WHY?

Like most tasks at work or at home, your hot tub water will be happier if there’s one owner, not multiple owners.  You’ve probably heard the term Tragedy of the Commons. In short, that means NO ONE is assigned true ownership and so everyone thinks the other guy or gal is handling responsibility and the risk increases that NOTHING happens or tasks get forgotten.  That’s a disaster when it comes to hot tub care.

WHAT SHOULD THE PERSON IN CHARGE DO?

The day you have your hot tub delivered and installed, talk with our install team and determine who’s the best person in your household to be in charge of your hot tub’s care.  This person should have a regular schedule and a certain day or days of the week where water testing and adjusting takes place.

Remember if you’re organized about things, hot tub care is a few simple minutes per week.  Believe us, being a little more organized and structured will save you pain and hassles in the future!

CAN I FIRE THE PERSON IN CHARGE?

Well……..yes and no.  If you’re tired of or don’t have time for the weekly maintenance of your spa, call us and we can put your on our weekly service plan.  But, if’ you’re wanting to fire you spouse……..we’re not gonna touch that one!
