INFRARED SAUNAS & LYME DISEASE

Sauna - no person

At Flint Hills Spas, one of our key products that is growing in popularity is the Infrared Saunas.  It’s intriguing to talk to our customers about why they are buying an infrared sauna. It is always for health, wellness, and longevity reasons.

In the past couple months, we’ve had several customers looking at infrared saunas to help provide relief from Lyme Disease.  So we decided to do a little research and below is a very brief summary of what we found.  The reviews are very positive!

But before we go too far, the lawyers would want us to remind you: We give no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy of the information provided herein.  We are not physicians or medical professionals and the information provided has not been reviewed or approved by any such professional.  Do not deem any of the information provided as a means of diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment prescription.  Please consult your physician before using an infrared sauna to treat Lyme Disease or any other medical conditions.

TOXINS FROM LYME DISEASE

Lyme disease is caused by spiral-shaped bacteria, or spirochetes.  The spirochetes produce toxins that build up in vital organs such as the liver and kidneys, leaving them overloaded and unable to filter toxins as efficiently.  This causes build up of toxins in the body.

When taking antibiotics, dead or dying bacteria can release toxins at a higher rate.  The body cannot remove toxins as quickly as they are being produced by dying bacteria.  Different symptons, such as Flu-like symptoms, caused by the build up of toxins, can occur.

SWEAT IT OUT!

An important way our bodies remove toxins, including heavy metals, ammonia, metabolites, even absorbed pesticides/herbicides, is through sweat.  Infrared Saunas help detoxify the body by increasing sweat production.  This relieves the load on vital organs like your liver and kidneys, increasing organ functionality.

Using an Infrared Sauna versus a conventional Sauna/Steam has the advantage that Infrared Heat penetrates deeper into the body and at a lower temperature.  In turn, you release more toxins trapped deeper in your tissue, and a greater concentration of toxins is removed

It appears that physicians recommend people start using the Infrared Sauna 1-3x/week for 10-20 minutes per session, then build up from there.  I have a former co-worker and friend who used to suffer from Lyme Disease who used his Infrared Sauna 5+ times per week.  We’ve also read that in some instances, the user may initially experience an ammonia odor from sweat during first few sessions.  This is not uncommon with people suffering from Lyme Disease, as the spirochetes mentioned above produces high levels of ammonia toxin.

Again, we’re basing the above on what customers have told us and what we’ve read. Consult your doctor and then come see us to learn more about Infrared Saunas.
